People can best respond to conflict by helping to stop or fight the conflict depending on what side you are on. If the conflict is related to a fighting reason to people’s rights than encourage it and if it is not, try to stop it by anyway. The way some people helped with conflict was by supporting with necessities of life during a time of war, or encouraged fighting for rights of others. Some were forced into supporting a conflict that had to do with hurting others like nazi’s children in schools. A Lot of people don’t have a choice when it comes to conflict because depending on when or where the person lives they could be part of the conflict just by being someone different than the other person like the jews. Jewish people did not have a choice when it came to the German people/ nazies hating them for their beliefs or having different features. Some people in the world when are trying to fight a conflict give it through a speech, or try to change the school’s system or try another thing other than those three examples. These 2 examples were real because of two countries the British and German/Nazi party, when the prime minister of england Winston Churchill gave a speech to keep people assured of the Germans not attacking them. Churchill gave his speech to let the people know what the government was doing and that was creating a war cabinet preparing for an attack from the nazies, and encouraging the people that they will strive for victory but there is still is a chance they might all die. For the Germans they tried to spread their ideas by rewriting the school curriculum so Nazi children would be born and they could only follow nazi ideals read the new books and the teachers had to submit to the the curriculum with being loyal to Nazi ideas if not they would be fired. The children would now have more freedom and they would disrespect their teachers give them death threats when they would be crossed with the teachers for given the kids a bad grade. “Although a poor student himself, Hitler had definite ideas about education. For Hitler, education had one purpose: to mold children into good Nazis. As soon as the Nazis came to power, they took control of the public schools, called National Schools. They threw out old textbooks and implemented new ones. They rewrote the curriculum from the top to bottom, so that it only taught Nazi-approved ideas.” and “On Friday evening last I received from His Majesty the mission to form a new administration. It was the evident will of Parliament and the nation that this should be conceived on the broadest possible basis and that it should include all parties. I have already completed the most important part of this task.In the world there are some who tried to stop conflict so there will be no more, they can be anyone from a soldier, doctor, or a survivor of the holocaust. There is a man named Elie Wiesel a nobel peace prize winner and Boston University professor, he had personal experience of the Holocaust which made him want to use his talents as an author, teacher, and storyteller to defend human rights and bring peace to the world. In his life Professor Elie Wiesel after he survived the concentration with only his 2 older sister and leaving behind his younger sister, mother and father at the camps. He would take time to study until one day he felt that he needed to let the people know his experience during the time of the Holocaust. Another person who didn’t directly try to stop conflict but did in a different way, through what she left like a Journal for us to read. The person I’m talking about is Anne Frank the little girl, who grow up in a secret room called the Annex for 2 years hiding, not allowed to make a sound. She lived with her mother, father, and sister Margot also a family friend named the Van Dans and a man named Mr. Dussel. During the night Anne would talk to a boy Peter who she liked. She would also write in her journal for 2 years until she was taken by German soldiers, and put into a concentration camp until she died. Her living father Mr.Frank was the only one left alive of the family. “After the war, Wiesel studied in Paris and later became a journalist in that city, yet he remained silent about what he endured as an inmate in the camps. During an interview with the French writer Francois Mauriac, Wiesel was persuaded to end that silence. He subsequently wrote La Nuit (Night). Since its publication in 1958, La Nuit has been translated into 30 languages and millions of copies have been sold. In Night, Wiesel describes his experiences and emotions at the hands of the Nazis during the Holocaust: the roundup of his family and neighbors in the Romanian town of Sighet; deportation by cattle car to the concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau; the division of his family forever during the selection process; the mental and physical anguish he and his fellow prisoners experienced as they were stripped of their humanity; and the death march from Auschwitz-Birkenau to the concentration camp at Buchenwald.” also “15-year-old girl named Anne Frank died 70 years ago this week; the exact day is unknown. She died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, not long after her sister Margot, who was 19.”Now for the last type of people who try to help others solve conflict by being a savior’s for people that needed one for those could not support themselves during a time of war when either people were going to try to kill them or people were almost dead. Sandler a young nurse during a time of war was on the Nazies side so she would help the people who were sick in the ghetto, a place where people were pretty much left to die and nowhere to go. The Nazies were terrified of a disease called Typhoid the symptoms were high fever, headache, belly pain, and either constipation or diarrhea. She would screen people meaning telling the Nazi soldiers they have the sickness but they really didn’t and when the solder fell for it, she would find a way help them escape from the ghetto. The second person who also try to solve a problem was president Franklin Delano Roosevelt the 32nd president of the United States, the man that made a decision that a lot of people thought was wrong. During his term he created the executive order 9066 which created the relocation camps that sent anyone who is japanese into these camps. The japanese americans lost their businesses, homes, and other things to this order, but the japanese people were not angry they listened to their government and went into the camps peacefully. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt during the time made a good decision in some eyes but in a lot not really because he sent them to camps for the safety of the japanese americans to not be harmed, but we later found out it was not for the reason of them possibly getting hurt. In the end he may have made a bad decision but he also protect the people from being harmed. “The attack on Pearl Harbor also launched a rash of fear about national security, especially on the West Coast. In February 1942, just two months after Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt as commander-in-chief, issued Executive Order 9066, which had the effect of relocating all persons of Japanese ancestry, both citizens and aliens, inland, outside of the Pacific military zone. The objectives of the order were to prevent espionage and to protect persons of Japanese descent from harm at the hands of Americans who had strong anti-Japanese attitudes.” “Sendler was a young Catholic nurse and social worker in Warsaw, Poland, during the Holocaust. The Nazis were terrified that typhoid was going to spread from the ghettos, where thousands of Jews were confined in terrible conditions. So Sendler was able to enter the Warsaw Ghetto to screen people for the disease.” In life there many ways a person can best respond to conflict and there are people who don’t just become a bystander they do something about it and you can find out their story through a book, article, or something you hear. This is what I think about how people can best respond to conflict in this world and it can be through ways you would probably think could never happen like Anne frank if her father never survived there would not a be Anne Frank book. Her journal would have never been published to the public so we can see what it was like to hide from the nazies. The people who try to fight or stop conflict are the people who took action to do what they felt was right like Winston Churchill, Elie Wiesel, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Sendler are heros. The people that I mention today are the people who are known in history to be good people that did good things, and for me I would fight the conflict.
