There are currently 3 trillion barrels left in the world but we are using more oil as time goes by. We already used 1 trillion in the last 50 yearsA study is currently taking place right now. There are already some alternatives to replace it, but it takes time and money for people to implement it. solar panel and windmills are already in the works, but they provide less than 1 percent of energy, and they only produce electricity. Brazil has been one of the first countries taking steps and has completely stopped the usage of petroleum in their cars. Brazil automobiles rely on ethanol produced by sugarcane. Brazil and the United States are the top leading countries that produced ethanol, so why doesn’t America just use it?Ethanol is a grain alcohol that can be blended with gasoline and used in motor vehicles. Ethanol increases gasoline vapor pressure which may cause a vapor lock in the carburetor. Ethanol is that it attracts water and it does break down faster than gasoline. With water absorbing into the fuel, there is the chance that rust will form on the interior of the engine.The bad part is that we use more energy to make ethanol than the ethanol will produce . it is bad.
