It was long ago when it first started………….back in the year of 373.
They used as a rough cloth and the toothpaste and then they rubbed it on their teeth. The way they made it was made by putting together Rock salt, Mint, Dried iris flower and Grains of pepper. Back before toothpaste and toothbrushes all they used was a rough cloth and some water. Later they used a twig and added bristle to the end to make a toothbrush the chinese called it the miswak, the Chinese are believed to have invented the first natural bristle toothbrush made from pigs necks which made bristle in the 15th century, with the bristles attached to a bone or bamboo handle . When it was traded over from China to Europe, this design was adapted and used softer horse hairs which many Europeans preferred. Today we use certain brands of toothpaste and toothbrushes.
We do not use toothpastes and toothbrushes the same way as the did back in 373 B.C. , Now toothpaste comes in a cardboard box with a brand on it and in the inside is a tube with toothpaste. We brush our teeth in a circular motion all around our mouths. Most people brush their teeth in the bathroom before they go to work or school. Some people use mouthwash after brushing their teeth. Back in 373 B.
C. in ancient egypt they used to eat a lot of bread so the grains would get stuck in between their teeth. When the made the toothbrush that was the main reason they made it is so they could get the grains out of their teeth. Did they use floss? The world may never know. They did not call it toothpaste but the word came from an Americanism dating back to 1825-35. They also made breath mints so if you were wondering who made breath mints the answer is ancient egyptians made it. They most likely used it the same way we do in today’s society.
The way we use it is for us after we eat something. When we use it its for our breath to not smell like what we ate.
